Our Shared Vision & Ambition
St. Peter's vision is encapsulated by Achieve-Believe-Create. We strive to provide opportunities for our pupils to:
How do we articulate the theological roots of our vision?
‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.’ Philippians 4:13
Our strength to Achieve comes from Jesus. No matter what the challenges or goals, with God’s help, we can all accomplish great things.
Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to they who believe.” Mark 9:23
Building from Philippians, the Bible has a number of passages about belief. Self-confidence, self-worth and self-respect is given to us from God. If we Believe, he provides us with strength and all that we need to live a godly life.
‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.’ Jeremiah 29:11
As we look to the future, it helps to know who we are and the plan that God has for us. As we grow in faith, our confidence in God grows. He is our guide, our strength and our shield. God is always there for us in order to Create a happy, healthy and successful future.
Our School Logo
Our St. Peter's logo symbolises not only our school vision, but our mission statement, values and ambition for all. The ichthys symbol (Jesus or Christian fish) originates from the Greek word for fish and translates to Jesus Christ God's Son. It is typically used to demonstrate affinity with God. As a Christian school, we look to Jesus as an example of how to lead our lives day-by-day. Jesus chose several fishermen to be his disciples, one of whom was Peter. This followership and partnership is captured by our mission statement:
Hand in Hand we Journey together,
guided by God.
The cross keys of St. Peter are often referred to as the 'Keys of Heaven.' However, as a school we also link them to our Golden Key to Good Learning Behaviour and our continual drive to improve teaching and learning providing opportunities to Unlock the Potential inside each and every unique individual.
