Premises Officer

Salary: Grade 4 - 25 Hours per Week (All year round - Split between two sites as agreed) 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a friendly, practical, and dependable individual to join our team, working across both St Peter's CE Primary in Ardingly and St Giles CE Primary in Horsted Keynes. 

After two years of working in close partnership, on 1st September St Giles and St Peter’s officially joined together to form the Bright Futures Federation.  At this important time of growth and development, we are looking to appoint someone well-organised and reliable who will take pride in making sure that the upkeep and maintenance of both school sites is consistently of a high standard.

For your application to be successful, you will be able to offer:

  • experience of working in a practical role with evidence of good maintenance skills;
  • a rational approach to health & safety with clear consideration of how best to support colleagues, alongside a willingness to learn;
  • a strong understanding of the need to complete daily, weekly, monthly and annual checks;
  • good organisational skills and an understanding of the need to maintain clear records;
  • an ability to use own initiative, prioritise tasks and draw upon the support of contractors as and when required; and
  • good communication and interpersonal behaviour which is fully supportive our vibrant, welcoming and supportive village school communities.

Applicants will also need to be physically fit and adaptable as the work is varied and at times demanding.  This is a permanent appointment with a six-month probationary period, subject to satisfactory service.  School visits are actively encouraged, please contact the School Secretary at St Peter’s, Ms Gina Griffin, on 01444 892314 if you require further information or to arrange a visit.  Your application form and accompanying letter, should be posted or emailed to office@st-peters.school.  Please note that CVs will not be accepted. 

Start Date: ASAP

Salary Range: £25,583 - £25,989 [pro rata] (£13.26 - £13.47 per hour)
