Friends of St Peter’s School
The school’s PTA were relaunched as the Friends of St Peter’s School, reflecting their welcoming and inclusive ethos.
As our name suggests, we are a friendly group of parents and carers who work together to support the school community through vital fundraising whilst having fun along the way.
Throughout the year, we organise a wide range of social events and activities for both children and adults. The funds we raise help provide additional resources, equipment and experiences that enhance school life for all pupils.
In recent years, fundraising has supported improvements such as the refurbishment of the school library, playground equipment, the amphitheatre, IT resources (including laptops and iPads), sports equipment and team kits, and enrichment initiatives.
We aim to;
- Promote collaboration and communication between parents, carers and school staff.
- Assist in providing activities which support and advance the welfare and education of the pupils attending the school (as set out in our Constitution).
We are comprised of a Committee and a group of Class Representatives. Class Reps. inform parents about ‘Friends’ news and events and organise class social events.
The current team are:
Committee
Co-Chairs - Charissa Turner & Natalie King
Co Secretaries - Lindsay Garfoot and Jo Moffatt
Treasurer - Henry Goodburn
Publicity Officer - TBC
Dates for the FOSPS committee meetings are always circulated by ParentMail and everyone is welcome to join these meetings. You do not need to be a member of the committee to attend.
As a parent or carer of a child at St Peter’s CE Primary School, you are automatically a ‘Friend’ of the school and, as our logo says, together we can make a difference. We are always looking for new volunteers, no matter how much time you have to offer, so if you have ideas and enthusiasm please get in touch.
We can be contacted at any time by emailing us at fosps@st-peters.school. We also have a post box in the school entrance and a noticeboard at the school gate.
