Where can a book take you?
We had a fabulous time celebrating World Book Day! This year’s theme, “Where can a book take you?”, inspired an incredible variety of imaginative costumes from astronauts and knights to cavemen and fairies!
Pupils worked in mixed‑age groups throughout the day, taking part in activities designed to deepen their love of reading. They created story maps, acted out scenes with drama and expression, and even invented new story endings. A favourite activity was Guess the Book, where children used clues and extracts to identify well‑known stories.
Creativity was everywhere. Pupils built 3D room models for book characters, made colourful bookmarks, and transformed classroom doors into “doorways to adventure” leading to forests, oceans, planets, and more.
World Book Day was a joyful reminder of how stories can inspire, connect, and spark imagination. Thank you to all pupils, families, and staff for making it such a memorable celebration.
